AIS has expanded its rugged tablet PC range with the all new AIS 10.4-inch Rugged Tablet PC. Featuring an aluminum-magnesium alloy construction with individually sealed ports, this tablet PC is specially designed for operating in generally extreme conditions and meets the military’s MIL-STD 810F standards for shock, vibration and drop resistance. The system itself is equipped with a 10.4-inch touch-sensitive sunlight readable LCD display, a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor, up to 2GB RAM, a shock-mounted removable hard drive or compact flash, GPS, WiFi, WWAN, Bluetooth and a 6-cell battery. Price starts at $1,499.

The Lenovo Ideapad S10-2 is now available with a higher resolution 1280 x 720 pixel display. Priced at 349 Euros ($499), the Lenovo IdeaPad S10-2 M21BCGE comes jam packed with a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N280 CPU, a 10.1 inch display, a 1GB of RAM, a 160G hard drive, a 6 cell battery, a 1.3MP webcam, three USB ports, WiFi, Bluetooth, and a 4-in-1 card reader. Coming in either white or black color options, this mini laptop offers a 12.1-inch display with 1366 x 768 resolution, a 1.6GHz AMD Athlon Neo MV-40 CPU, an ATI Mobility Radeon X1250 graphics card, a 2GB RAM, a 250GB hard disk, a 1.3MP webcam, WiFi, 10/100 Ethernet LAN, an HDMI port, Bluetooth, a 6-cell battery and Windows Vista Home Premium OS.

Samsung is getting ready to unleash its new ultra-thin and light notebook, the Samsung X520. Based on the Intel’s Consumer Low Voltage (CULV) platform, the new X520 features a 15.6-inch display with 1366 x 768 resolution, a 1.3GHz Core 2 Solo SU2700 CPU, a 4GB RAM, a 320GB hard drive, a 1.3MP webcam, a 3-in-1 card reader, WiFi, Bluetooth, an HDMI output, a 6-cell battery and Windows Vista Home Premium OS. No details on pricing and release date yet, but according to some sources it will cost around €699 ($1,004).

Currently available in China, MSI’s X600 ultra-thin notebook is finally available in the US for $799.99. So here’s what you get, a 1.4GHz Intel Ultra Low Voltage SU3500 processor, an ATI HD 433o graphics card, a 15.6-inch widescreen display with 1366 x 768 resolution, a 4GB RAM, a 320GB hard drive, a 1.3MP webcam, an external DVD drive, WiFi, Bluetooth and Windows Vista OS.

Hannspree has announced that its 10-inch netbook ‘HannsNote‘ will soon make its way to America. Currently available in Europe, this mini laptop will come in two color options; black or white, and feature a 10-inch LED backlit display with 1024 x 600 resolution, a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU, an Intel GMA950 graphics card, a 1.3MP webcam, a 1GB RAM, a 160GB hard drive, Windows XP Home OS, a 3-in-1 card reader, WiFi, Bluetooth and a six-cell lithium-ion battery. The HannsNote 10-inch netbook will sell for $379.99 here in America.

Kohjinsha has updated its EX netbook series by releasing the EX6 that comes equipped with a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU, an Intel 945GSE Express chipset, up to 2GB DDR2-533MHz RAM, a 11.6-inch touchscreen display with a 1366 x 768 pixel resolution, a 160GB 2.5-inch SATA 5400rpm HDD, WiFi, Bluetooth, and a DVD multi burner. Weighing at 1.7kg or around 3-pounds, the high-end model retails for 69,800 Yen, while the low-end model (without Bluetooth or fingerprint reader) for 59,800 Yen.

MSI will soon introduce a new version of their upcoming 12.1-inch MSI Wind U200 notebook, the MSI Wind U210, in Europe. The U210 will feature a 12.1-inch display with 1366 x 768 resolution, a 1.6GHz AMD Athlon Neo MV-40 CPU, an ATI Mobility Radeon X1250 graphics card, up to 2GB RAM, up to 250GB hard disk, a webcam, WiFi, 10/100 Ethernet LAN, Bluetooth, a 6-cell battery and a choice of either Windows XP Home or Windows Vista Home Premium. The MSI Wind U210 Notebook will be sold for 399 Euro (about $568) upwards, depending on the specs.

The LG X130 is the company’s latest 10-inch netbook that comes with a 9-cell battery (up to 12 hours in use time). Available in pink, black and white lids, this mini laptop is powered by a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU and features a 10.1-inch 1024 x 600 LCD display, a 1GB RAM, a 160GB hard drive, Wifi, Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR and Windows XP Home OS. The LG X130 will go on sale in Europe, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa for a price around $632.

Samsung has just announced that they will start shipping the Samsung N510 netbook in the US in September. This mini laptop will be sold for $599 at launch.
